Another new Golf family is on its way with 2019 Volkswagen Golf and the rest of its ilk releasing in North America before the end of 2018. While we’ll undoubtedly cover each of these models in some detail, its best to start with the forebearer. That would, of course, be the Volkswagen Golf, or rather the 2019 VW Golf to be specific.

There are 2 big changes from the 2018 VW Golf to the 2019 VW Golf. The first of which is a new engine, taken from the 2019 Jetta redesign. This engine offers less horsepower, but far more efficiency and more responsive handling, which is far more important for the lightweight Golf compact hatch. The second change is a great deal of safety and driver-assistance technology now available with the starting S trim level of the 2019 VW Golf. Beyond those alterations, what else is there to enjoy with the 2019 Volkswagen Golf?
